You'll Always Be There

So... my song 'Walk Away' got me thinking about something right now. When we talk about relationships - we always use the 'band-aid' metaphor. You know... like if you want to break up - just rip it off like a band-aid, it'll pain at first, but you'll forget all about it easily. I mean the Band Aid metaphor is used around quite a bit.

But why don't people use their hair as a metaphor. Think about it. For a relationship - it somehow seems perfect. You know... your hair is like a relationship you've had. Sometimes you have a bad hair day, sometimes good. Sometimes you like to experiment. Now that got me really thinking... and of course... I wrote down what I was thinking... and it turned out something like this.

There are some double meanings - so watch out for them :P

-----

Sometimes i’ll let you outgrow me
I’ll let you run wild
But if it gets too messy
I’ll crop you down for a while

I can streak you with colour
Maybe a sexy black and blue
And as you shine in the sun
Everyone will envy you

Oh my love!
You’re as good as my hair
Long or short doesn’t matter
You’ll always be there

Oh my love!
You know i’ll always care
Straight or curvy it don’t matter
You’ll always be there

Sometimes you might get burnt
Or just a little grumpy
But I have learnt
A good scrub can solve anything

I wouldn’t mind styling you
If you have the time
Even put a hat on
Whenever you’re feeling shy

Oh my love!
You’re as good as my hair
Long or short doesn’t matter
You’ll always be there

Oh my love!
You know i’ll always care
Straight or curvy it don’t matter
You’ll always be there
