Tide

Calm as the sea
If my, my world were to be
Then you’d, be by my side
That’s easy to see

But I know for a fact
That’s not, where my life’s at
I know, this must be hard for you
I can see through your act

Through the laughter and tears
Through the pain over the years
Every lesson I have learnt
Tells me to be myself

And I’m strongest alone
While I know that I will always have your support
There's one thing you should know
I live my life for my own

And baby I’m messed up inside
You shouldn’t wanna be with me on my crazy ride
Move along with your life
I might be changing with the tide

I may not be right
Cos I, never put up a fight
I let, you be here with me
Night after night

Through the laughter and tears
Through the pain over the years
Every lesson I have learnt
Tells me to be myself

And I’m strongest alone
While I know that I will always have your support
There's one thing you should know
I live my life for my own

And baby I’m messed up inside
You shouldn’t wanna be with me on my crazy ride
Get along with your life
I might be changing with the tide

Oooh
You think you know me?
Oooh
You know what I need?
Oooh
You say you understand me?
Ooooh
But this should not be about me

Cos I’m strongest alone
While I know that I will always have your support
There's one thing you should know
I live my life for my own

And baby I’m messed up inside
You shouldn’t wanna be with me on my crazy ride
Get along with your life
I might be changing with the tide

Oh yeah, I might be changing with the tide
I know, I know, It ain't fair
But I might just be changing with the tide
Yeah,
I just might be changing with the tide
With the tide
With the tide....

I stand alone, and though there are friends and lovers, I'd not want them to take a share, of my pain.

    Nice read.

Wonder how do you get copyright on your poems, is there some formal procedure?

  3. Thanks guys!

There is a legal procedure by joining the songwriters association etc.

But an easy poor-man's way to copyright their work is to print them out and post it to themself and not 'open' it so that the date is stamped on the courier envelope and it is sealed. So your date is secured.
